A 43 x 60 mm keychain carrying Lord Ganesha drawn in flowing brush strokes, the way the figure is written in calligraphy rather than illustrated. A flame finial and a ribbed crown band sit at the top, the head and trunk are formed by one long sweeping stroke down the centre, and a broad ribbon stroke curves across the base. Tapered strokes stand in for the ears and the raised hand, and a dot above a curve forms the eye.
It is built in two tones. The backing plate is printed in one tone and the strokes sit on it as a raised second layer in another, standing 1 mm proud of the 3 mm plate for a total thickness of 4 mm, so each stroke reads by contrast and by height. The plate is cut to follow the strokes with a 2 mm border all round, which keeps the open, unboxed look of the calligraphy. The strokes are part of the print rather than engraved or applied, so there is nothing to peel or wear off.
A 6 mm hole runs through the top of the plate with 3 mm of material around it, blended into the outline beside the crown so it sits within the shape. It takes a split ring, chain, or lanyard.
